On November 28, 2004, being led by the Holy Spirit, Reverend Kevin J. White organized the Threshing Floor Deliverance Baptist Mission. The first worship service was held at 10:00am at the Capitol Skyline Hotel, formerly the Best Western Capital Skyline Hotel in Washington, DC. The sermon for that historic day was “The Threshing Floor” taken from 2 Samuel 24:18-25. At this worship service, words of encouragement were given by Dr. H. Beecher Hicks, Jr., Pastor of Metropolitan Baptist Church and Reverend Eldridge Spearman Pastor of Mt. Jezreel Baptist Church.
After the morning worship service on November 28th, the first church meeting was held and Rev. Kevin J. White was elected as the first Mission Leader (Pastor) of the newly organized church. He served as Under Shepherd until October 31, 2007. Also during the first meeting, the name of the church was accepted, a church administrative staff was formed and a website was designed.
In September 2007, Pastor White was chosen and called to pastor New Zion Baptist Church in Elizabeth, NJ. A Pulpit Committee was selected as we prayerfully sought another leader to take us to our next level.
On October 17, 2007, Rev. Bridget Goines-Gray was elected to pastor Threshing Floor Deliverance Baptist Church. Rev. Goines-Gray served as the second pastor of Threshing Floor until March 2008.
On November 30, 2008, Threshing Floor installed their third pastor Rev. French L. Bryant, Jr. Rev. Bryant has served faithfully, leading the church to worship at its present location in Bowie, MD. It is our desire to bring glory to God by sharing the good news of the gospel and changing our world one soul at a time.
We believe that God has great things in store for Threshing Floor and that she will be a beacon of light calling lost souls to experience God’s wonderful love, and His amazing grace.
